Dunmail House is traditionally built from local stone on the northern edge of the village, it is ideally situated for a wide variety of walks to suit all abilities.

The garden is a particular feature of the house with magnificent views and our guests are encouraged to enjoy its beauty with us.

Standard and en-suite rooms are available, all of which enjoy wonderful views of the surrounding fells.  Tea and coffee making facilities are provided.

The comfort of homely, country style hospitality, cleanliness and personal service combined with a traditional English breakfast make Dunmail House an ideal choice for a relaxing holiday.

Grasmere village is to the north of Grasmere Lake and is easily accessible from Ambleside to the south and Keswick to the north, both of which area only 20 minutes away by car on the A591.

The village is well served by the local bus company and the frequent service from Windermere (nearest railway station) to Keswick passes Dunmail House.

Ample car parking is available for guests' cars.

We are a non-smoking establishment and must therefore request that
our guests do not smoke.

We accept payment by cheque, cash, sterling travellers cheques and most
Debit/Credit cards (not American Express).

Vegetarians can be catered for on request.

Packed lunches are also available if ordered the previous evening.
